Shawn Rashid, has joined Douglas Motorsport’s driver line-up for the 2023 GB3 Championship. The Atlanta native is a hard-working individual with a high drive and strong training regimen. Extremely eager to achieve success at the top of motorsport, he works everyday at perfecting his craft. Having spent the past year training/racing in formula cars, he is eager to compete in Europe among some of the best motorsport competitions in the world. Rashid, who lived in California before moving to the UK to race, was a regular visitor to the rookie class podium all year. Breaking into the overall top three late in the season, he recorded four podiums in the final six races including a maiden win at Brands Hatch. Rashid also contested the two big prestigious end-of-year Formula Ford events, showing promising pace in the Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone before taking a dominant heat win in the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch.
Aside from his racing career Shawn is passionate about working with plant medicine and has sat in numerous ceremonies throughout both Central and South America. Attuning his mind, body and soul through indigenous traditions and practices allows him to remain grounded throughout the intensities and demanding regimen of a professional athlete.
